Matthew R. Gonzales, Business Manager, Laborers’ Local 1095
Matthew, a second-generation union member with over 25 years construction experience, was introduced to the industry by his father. He started his career with LIUNA in 2011 as a labor foreman and safety advisor. In 2014, Matt moved to Texas to work as an organizer for the LIUNA Midwest Region. By 2017, he became the Business Manager for Laborers Local 1095, representing over 900 members. He is committed to advancing union apprenticeships, cultivating robust partnerships, and facilitating opportunities for the broader community. He played a key role in launching the LIUNA LEARN program, a pre-apprenticeship, at Sam Houston High School, enhancing opportunities for students and contributing to a skilled workforce in San Antonio.
