Technical Customer Service Training in Telecommunications

EMPLOYER PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This training was developed in partnership with Industry training professionals to deliver a curriculum that will teach advanced technical skill sets for a Technical Customer Service Representative in home technology and broadband data delivery. Entrance into this program does not guarantee employment.

If you have previously applied and tested for a Technical Customer Service position at ATT within the previous 6 months, you are not eligible for this program.

Who is Eligible?
The ideal candidate should be free of felony convictions and pass a background check, be able to pass a drug test, have reliable transportation and be willing to go to multiple locations for courses, commit to completing program with zero absences (perfect attendance), understand the call center environment is a 24 hour a day, seven day a week operation with designated break times, and also have the following qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Language:

  • English (fluency in reading and writing)

  • Spanish (desirable, but not required)

Experience:

  • Customer service experience highly desirable \

  • Technology industry experience highly desirable

  • Call center experience in a technical environment highly desirable

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills in a technical troubleshooting environment

  • Proficiency in MS Office 2007 Suite applications including MS Outlook 2007, Word 2007

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Knowledge of Internet and email protocols

  • Familiarity with desktop computer components and the Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista operating systems

  • Demonstrate PC Troubleshooting skills , MAC systems

  • Familiarity with networking technologies including home technology systems such as Cable, DVD, Home Theatre and broadband internet delivery mechanisms.

How It Works

Candidates will compete in a competitive process to be selected as part of the program. If chosen, students will be eligible for the following:

  • Up to 4 weeks of training within the Alamo College System at multiple locations

  • Fully paid tuition

  • A guaranteed employment screening and interview for candidates who pass the Alamo Colleges training course.

  • Candidates selected to participate in this program will undergo up to 4 weeks of intensive instruction within the Alamo Colleges in:

  • Home Technology Integration

  • Computer Troubleshooting and Networking

  • Customer Service

Skills Evaluation, Criminal Background and Drug Test
All successful program participants will be required to undergo a skills evaluation screening, criminal background check and drug test prior to employment
