REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - PUBLIC RELATIONS SERVICES
Workforce Solutions Alamo is soliciting proposals from
qualified public relations firms to provide comprehensive
and innovative services to position the organization and
articulate our message to help build brand awareness and
support of our mission.
The selected agency shall be responsible for helping
develop and implement strategic public relations and
communications plans in a professional, timely and efficient
manner, in order to: (1) Increase the awareness and use of
workforce development services available through Workforce
Solutions Alamo by employers and job seekers – create “top
of mind” awareness; (2) Position Workforce Solutions Alamo
as a valued, trusted and respected resource for workforce
and economic development; (3) Bring focus and attention to
workforce issues and needs.
Proposals will be available on October 13, 2008 at
10:00am, and a pre-proposal conference will be held at
Workforce Solutions Alamo offices, 115 E. Travis, San
Antonio, Texas on October 20, 2008 at 10:00am, and proposals
will be due no later than 4:00pm on November 10, 2008.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) - FISCAL MONITORING
Workforce Solutions Alamo is seeking the services of a
qualified entity to perform a comprehensive fiscal
monitoring review of its Career Center and Youth and Child
Care contractors that satisfies Workforce Solutions Alamo’s
contractual obligations under its contract with the Texas
Workforce Commission (TWC), the U.S. Department of Labor and
is consistent with the requirements set forth in the TWC
Financial Manual for Grants and Contracts.
The RFQ will be available for distribution beginning
October 13, 2008 no earlier than 10:00 a.m. at the Workforce
Solutions Alamo office located at 115 E. Travis, Suite 220,
San Antonio, TX, 78205, or by e-mail request. A Pre-proposal
conference will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 23, 2008.
Responses to this RFQ are due no later than 3:00 p.m. on
November 14, 2008. The RFQ is available for download here,

Workforce Investment Act
Texas’ Training Provider Certification
System
The Alamo WorkSource continues to accept applications from training entities for Initial
or Subsequent Eligibility under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
Entities that are approved by Alamo WorkSource are referred to the Texas
Workforce Commission (TWC) for inclusion or retention in Texas’
Eligible Training Provider System (ETPS)
Training
provided in the Alamo WorkSource Area, which includes
Bexar,
Atascosa, Bandera,
Comal,
Frio, Gillespie,
Guadalupe,
Karnes, Kendall,
Kerr,
Medina and Wilson
counties, must be in demand occupations identified by Alamo
WorkSource as part of the local plan.
Minimum
Performance Standards established for initial eligibility include:
